The most advanced hearing care, along with the best digital hearing instruments available
anywhere. Because nothing less than the best will do!
To help insure the optimum solution for your specific hearing loss, Parker Hearing Institute offers select hearing aids from these manufacturers: Oticon, Widex, GN Resound, Sonic Innovations, Phonak, Starkey, Unitron, Rexton, and Siemens.
Additionally, most hearing aids are available in these five basic styles:
•Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC): This is the smallest option. They fit completely in the ear canal, making CICs practically invisible.
•In-The-Canal (ITC): This is the most popular option. Slightly larger than a CIC. At about the size of a dime, these hearing aids fit mostly in the ear canal so they are hardly noticeable.
•In-The-Ear (ITE): These hearing aids are about the size of a quarter and fit in the outer portion of the ear and the ear canal. They’re easy to hold for people with arthritic hands.
•Behind-The-Ear (BTE): A small, curved case fits around the back of the ear and is connected to the ear canal by an ear mold. Allows for more hearing power to be delivered to your ears as your hearing becomes worse.
•Behind-The-Ear OPEN FIT: A small, curved case fits around the back of the ear and is connected to the ear canal by an ear mold. Leaves the ear canal open for more natural sounding speech and very little feedback from your own voice. It is designed for milder hearing losses.
Which style is right for you? That depends on your specific hearing loss, and is something that should be discussed between you and your audiologist.
