Hearing Aid Accessories

Just like most electronic devices, there are many different accessories that can improve the usage of your hearing aids. At Parker Hearing, we do not want to sell you items that you would not need. We only want to give you the resources to make your hearing health fall seamlessly into your day to day life.

Below is a list of some common hearing aid accessories.

Batteries

There are four common types of batteries for hearing aids: 10, 312, 13, and 675. Newer hearing aids can also offer rechargeable batteries. We sell batteries at our offices.

Batteries should normally last anywhere from 4-14 days depending on their power and the hearing aid usage. If you feel that your batteries are not lasting as long as they should, bring your hearing aid in for a cleaning or repair. We will work with you to diagnose an issue and fix it.

Hearing Aid Battery Tester

When you cannot tell if your battery is dead or your hearing aid has stopped working, a batter tester comes in handy to determine the issue of your device malfunction. We do not normally suggests buying one, but if you commonly seem to be misplacing your dead batteries with live batters then this purchase might be a good idea.

Hearing Aid Dehumidifier

If you live in a moist climate or tend to sweat a lot, a hearing aid dehumidifier can extend the lifespan of your hearing aids. When placed in a moist environment, the internal electronics of a hearing aid begin to malfunction. A dehumidifier can take the mosture out of hearing aid and get it working again.

Wax Brushes, Picks, and Guards

These devices help clean your hearing aids to prevent earwax or other particles from clogging the microphones.

If you are not comfortable with cleaning your own hearing aids, we can do that for you if brought into the office.

Etcetera

There are many other hearing aid accessories that can improve a person’s hearing health. What is listed were the most important and commonly used. If you are curious about other accessories, please call our office to find out more.
